List making is one of the easiest ways for me to get my writing going. I try to come up with a theme for my but–as usual–my mind goes off in so many directions. I become distracted, lose focus, go off on a tangent… then remember what I was supposed to be working on in the first place. So I thought I’d start with my favorites, to see if I could get myself inspired.
Stream of consciousness at its finest, take one!
Book: The Little Prince by Antoine de-Saint Exupéry
Movie: The Empire Strikes Back
Album: The Beatles’ Abbey Road
Meal of the day: Breakfast… I love skillets with potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, cheese, and poached eggs. But I don’t like sweets first thing in the morning. The exception is a small, warm yeast doughnut that they give you when you sit down at Juicy-O’s. Also, this is may be my favorite place to have breakfast for that reason.
Item to order at Dairy Queen: A cherry dipped vanilla cone. Also love a crunch cone. Or a Peanut Buster Parfait.
Quote: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” From The Little Prince, spoken by the fox. I have the fox tattooed on the inside of my right foot for this reason.
Charity: World Wildlife Fund. Also have a tattoo of their panda logo above my left ankle.
Video game: Super Mario Bros. 3 or The Legend of Zelda. I am old-school that way.
Candy: I love Tootsie Pops/Tootsie Rolls. They are difficult to resist.
Candy bar: Take 5, but they are hard to find. Payday is fabulous, too.
Animal: I love cats (big or house) and bears.
Household chore: I like organizing, putting everything in its proper place.
Board game: Operation. Love the Star Wars version of operating on R2D2 my friend Ryan gave me for my birthday one year. 🙂
Artist: Van Gogh or Monet. Depends on my mood.
Flower: The flower itself doesn’t matter too much; I love white flowers. Roses, peony, orchid… but I do love tiny pale green hydrangeas as well.
Sport: To watch, baseball. I also love football and hockey.
Form of exercise: Running.
Athlete: A.J. Pierzynski.
Cookie: Double Stuf Oreo.
Music genre: Rock and roll!
Hobby: Cake decorating.
TV show: Seinfeld.
Season: Spring; although, being in the midwest, it’s rare to have more than maybe three days of spring… and they are never consecutive.
Muppet: Fozzie Bear.
Sesame Street character: That is rough. Cookie Monster.
Kids movie: Follow that Bird!
Smell: I’ve been saying this for the past 17 years, but I can only describe it as, “guy scent.” There’s something about nuzzling your nose in the neck of that special man, inhaling that intoxicating fragrance. Even better when he’s a little stubbly and you feel the scratch against your cheek, his arms wrapped around you, a hand caressing your back… I think I’m getting carried away here.
I’m going to have to continue this list another time. I’ve got a whole new entry to compose!
